About Wine & Vintage
Wine is the subject. Vintage is the dimension of time.
Wine & Vintage is an international editorial publication devoted to wine, vineyards, producers, winemakers, regions, vintages, cellars, collecting and the culture surrounding exceptional wine.
What we cover
We cover two interconnected ideas. Wine: the living world of wine today, from vineyard to cellar, the people who grow and make it, and the places that shape it. Vintage: wine through time, the harvest years, the weather, the ageing, the provenance, and the long arc of bottles and estates across decades.
Editorial philosophy
We put place, people, time, craft, knowledge, provenance and culture ahead of hype. We explain where wine comes from, who grows it, who makes it, why place matters, why vintage matters, how wine is made, how it ages, and how it should be kept. We write intelligently for collectors, winemakers, growers, sommeliers and serious enthusiasts, and we explain technical subjects clearly for readers building their knowledge.
Editorial standards
- We never invent facts, quotes, interviews, tastings, scores, auction results or provenance. If a storage history is unknown, we say so.
- We do not publish tasting notes written as firsthand experience unless someone at the publication genuinely tasted the wine. Producer and critic descriptions are attributed.
- We do not assign numerical scores. A vintage is never reduced to a number; it differs by region, subregion, variety, producer, vineyard and harvest date, and we explain the nuance.
- We distinguish editorial from advertising. Material commercial relationships are disclosed. Samples and technical information do not purchase coverage.
- We treat wine as agriculture, craft, history and culture, and we write about alcohol responsibly. We do not create content that encourages excessive consumption.
