The Code38 P-Type Pro is the current foundation of the Australian maker's range, succeeding the earlier Elite series. The maker describes it as a heavyweight designed for intensive use in professional wine service, with a textured stainless steel body and stainless steel components milled rather than cast or stamped.

The specification is unusually explicit: the body is milled from a solid stainless steel bar, the lifter is formed from solid 17-4PH stainless steel, the helix is a custom conical-tapered and hardened polished stainless steel, and the blade is 440C knife-grade stainless steel. Refined kinematics allow single-stage extraction of even the longest corks, and the tool weighs 110 grams at 119 mm long.

Each Code38 is made to order in the maker's solar-powered facility in Australia and is supplied in a storage capsule machined from solid aluminium and sealed with an O-ring. A manufacturer's international warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the product. The official product page is code38.com.
